Garmin MapSource Installation (PC)
Free Installation

How to install mapsource from the update file?

After trying the latest version of MapSource (6.14.1) downloaded from Garmin, I would recommend you to install the previous version of MapSource (6.13.7) which you can download from my sharing file or from Garmin website.

Step 1: The downloaded file will be similar to the picture here: mapsource

Step 2: Extract the installer file using your favorite extractor. I would recommend 7zip which can be downloaded from here.
- Ensure you select extract to folder, otherwise your directory will be messy.
- Do not run the installer, otherwise you will get an error message.

Step 3: You will notice a folder at which you extracted will appear in the same directory. Double click or <ENTER> to open the folder.

Step 4: Look for the Windows Installer Package (with extension .msi) and double click to run.

Step 5: Wait the Garmin MapSource to be installed. It should take only few seconds on Pentium 4 PC.

Step 6: Go to Start --> All Programs.
Your should be able to find Garmin --> MapSource there.
- No maps installed at this point, thus if you run you will get an error message like the following.

Error message due to no map installed.

Step 7: If you have already downloaded the map. You can just double click on the map to install it.
- The map can be obtained in my archieve here. [Courtesy of Malsingmaps.com].

Step 8: If the map is successfully installed. The MapSource will run as follows:
